Aetherwings are solitary and fierce creatures that find kindred spirit with Stormcast Eternal Vanguard-Raptors. They are feathered birds with savage beaks and claws.[1]
Habitat
Aetherwings are native to the Sidereal Mountains in Azyr and build their nests on the highest crags isolated from the world.[1a]
Stormcast Eternals
They prefer solitary lives and respect Vanguard-Raptors as fellow predators, so much so that a bonded Aetherwing may join a Vanguard-Raptor in battle. In exchange the Vanguard-Raptors watch over the nests of Aetherwings for reasons that are kept secret by their order.[1a]
Languages
While they have a tongue of their own to converse in[3a], Aetherwings can be taught to speak the same languages used by humans. In war this allows them to glean information from the enemies of the Stormhosts during scouting and espionage, then relay said information back to their Stormcast allies.[2a]
