Vanguard-Raptor
Vanguard-Raptors are the sole unit found in the Justicar Conclaves of the Vanguard Auxiliary Chambers. They serve as the marksmen of the Vanguard Auxiliary Chambers, working as both support units and as long distance snipers.[1a]
Overview
Vanguard-Raptors are reclusive marksmen, even by the standards of the Vanguard Auxiliary Chambers. These warriors are wholly focused on the battlefield role they have chosen. For some this means supporting allies with salvos and suppressing fire on enemy battle lines, such warriors wield Hurricane Crossbows. Others prefer to strike from afar and unseen, bringing down priority targets with Longstrike Crossbows. But whatever path they choose, Vanguard-Hunters are always accompanied by faithful Aetherwings.[1a]
Hierarchy
Vanguard-Raptors are organized into retinues led by Raptor-Primes.[3a][3b]
Companions
Vanguard-Raptors form fraternal bonds with Aetherwings, avian beasts from the Realm of Heavens, and always go into battle with the sharp-eyed birds by their side, or else the birds will travel further afield to scout out the area. It is said that the uncanny skill and aim of the Vanguard-Raptors, is thanks to the Aetherwings.[1a]
Wargear
Vanguard-Raptors can be armed with either Longstrike Crossbows or Hurricane Crossbows.[3a][3b] Those armed with Longstrike Crossbows are often employed as skilled marksmen and position themselves in vantage points.[3a] Whereas those armed with Hurricane Crossbows serve as ranged support, laying down suppressing fire on enemy lines.[3b]
