The Gitmobs are a type of nasty, cowardly and cruel Grot tribe. These Snarlfang-riding grots, unlike their subterranean cousins, do not fear the daylight. To them, the light of Hysh is a manifestation of the biggest stellar bully, Glareface Frazzlegit, the eternal enemy of their deity, the Bad Moon. They seek to take Frazzlegit's power for themselves and usher in the Everdank.[3a][3b]
Each day, these grots emerge from their cavernous lairs on top of their Snarlfang mounts and rickety chariots. In large packs, they move over the open planes of the Mortal Realms, chasing after Glareface Frazzlegit. However, the Gitmobs don't limit themselves to lupine mounts. They have many beast-drawn war engines pulled together from scrap and their own murderous ingenuity.[1][3b]
Of all the various types of grots in the Mortal Realms, those of the Gitmob are the most commonly seen.[2]

History

Age of Myth
Grots have always existed in the Mortal Realms. In the Age of Myth, a united Grot force was part of Gorkamorka's horde. Slowly spreading and multiplying through unknown means. While no definitive answer exists, theories suggest that once a grot dies and bleeds out, three more sprout from the spoiled ichor like a fungal infection.[3d]
At one point, the Grots departed from Gorkamorka's horde. The unified Grot culture splintered into many distinct factions. The reason for this departure isnt known, it might have been a disagreement that got out of hand, or an order of the twin-headed god itself. No matter what happened back then, this lead to the emergence of many new "kultures". Those Grots that went deep underground to escape the burning light became the Moonclan Grots. Those that chose to stay above ground became the ancestors of the Gitmob.[3d]
Age of Chaos
Making common cause with the lupine Snarlfangs, both sought to conquer the Realm of Light, Hysh. Yet, when the Age of Chaos arrived, they suffered all the same. With hordes of Daemons pouring out of Lumineth cities during the Spirefall, they retreated back into their lairs in Hysh, raising ever more venomous Snarlfangs in an effort to protect themselves.[3d]
Age of Sigmar
It was only with the start of the Age of Sigmar and the eruptions of the Realmgate Wars that the Grots emerged once again from their lairs. Where Skragrott bathed in the light of the Bad Moon during his conquest of Ayadah, Lumineth in Hysh found themselves picked off by a new foe. A Gitmob warlord by the name of Droggz da Sunchompa, armed with a sharp mind and an enlightened Snarlfang Jaggedsnarl by his side, took control of the lands around Zonquil's Shortcut.[3e]
Droggz reigned supreme over the lands he conquered for many decades. After a ritual conducted by his shamans, the land was permanently covered by a haze of corrupted light. Yet, his supremacy couldn't last. When the Necroquake erupted, and hordes of Ghouls flooded from the mountain peaks, his territory was crushed between the cannibalistic hordes and the walls of the Lumineth.[3e]
Confronted with this unwinnable situation, Droggz lead his forces through the Realmgate into Aqshy. Here they faced off against the Khorne worshipping armies of Selpher Zaronax. After decades of warfare, it was Droggz and Jaggedsnarl themselves who slew the commanding Daemon Prince, taking Golvaria for him and his Sunchompaz.[3e]
During the exodus from Hysh, some grots swore that they saw Droggz slain by an aelven arrow or vampiric magic - that they saw his corpse tumble from the back of Jaggedsnarl, but even decades later, the great warlord still sits on top of his mount as ever. Any Grot found to be spreading rumours about his supposed demise quickly find themselves fed to Snarlfang pups, or enlisted into the Doom Divers.[3e]
Society
Religion
To the Gitmob, the light of Hysh, in the form of Glareface Frazzlegit, represents the nemesis of the Bad Moon. A celestial bully that burns their eyes with its bright glow. As a result, the Gitmob have become obsessed with stealing the power of this incandescent fiend. After all, each Grot wants to see themselves become the biggest bully around.[3a]
To achieve this goal, Gitmob Grots craft a never ending pile of 'gubbinz'. Magical objects capable of absorbing the very light of Hysh. They are convinced, if they capture just enough of its power, Frazzlegit will wink out of existence., leaving the Bad Moon to take its place and usher in the Everdank. [3a]
Gitmob hordes steal and loot as much shiny metal as they can get their hands on, melting them down to craft their 'gubbinz'. They are not picky when it comes to what metals they take, as long as it is shiny and reflective. Their shamans are able to imbue any metallic surface with light absorbent properties.[3b]
Stealing as much sunlight as possible is the main priorities of the Gitmob, but they will not hesitate to tear down any foe that presents themselves. Those enemies that bedeck themselves with shiny objects are particularly sought after. Decried as "shinestealers", the Gitmob see them as stealing the light that is rightfully theirs. Lumineth have become popular targets, as their sunmetal weapons need little work to be turned to the grots' purpose. Stormcast Eternals are hated for their gleaming armour, especially since it usually vanishes when they are defeated, taking its shininess with it.[3b]
These artifacts aren't limited to absorbing the light of Hysh. They can also store the evil glow of the Bad Moon's Loonlight. When an artifact discharges loonlight mixed with daylight, it creates a madness-inducing shimmering fog known as 'frazzlemist'.[3b] [3f]
Know-Wotz
With the heavy exposure to the light of Hysh, Gitmobs often posses more intelligence than others of their kind. Be it by displaying a sense of strategy that can catch an unaware enemy off-guard, to crafting wild and ramshackle contraptions.[3f] The level of "know-wotz" displayed by a Grot can directly affect their standing within their pack. Bosses assert their dominance by creating bigger and better war machines, faster chariots, or higher trophy poles. Especially accomplished warlords can be identified by the number of trophies hung from their totem pole. A rival boss might even bow down and accept such a boss' leadership if they want to avoid unnecessary violence.[3c]
The best representation of the Gitmob's crafting skills are the chariots known as Sunsteala Wheelas. Woven from light wicker, these chariots are extremely fast and easy to fix. While the metal bands of the wheels, and the sweeping blades mounted on the side are made from looted metal that has been bashed into shape. Each chariot is adorned by light-absorbing depictions of Glareface Frazzelgit. When they have stored up enough energy, they can be unloaded in a blinding flash. While temporarily blinding to a foe, they can also set ablaze the highly inflammable wood and wicker of the chariots.[3f]
Though Grots have an intelligence of their own, they are not sophisticated. Their cunning is born out of their spiteful nature. Yet, their meddling with the enlightening influence of Hysh causes them bursts of dangerous ingenuity, leading to surprisingly creative tactics in the midst of battle.[3f]
Warfare
Instead of creeping around in the shadows and other dark places, Gitmob grots move swiftly on top of their Snarlfang mounts or on chariots. Moving in large packs, they obliterate anything in their way, always on the hunt for shiny artifacts and trinkets to absorb more and more sunlight.[3b]
In war, Gitmob hordes make extensive use of the light captured by their metal "gubbinz". Shiny pieces of metal, projecting intense light. Gitmob warriors will use clever tactics to blind and dazzle their enemies, such as moving in and out of combat rapidly to distract their disorientated foes, all while their brethren impale them with their spears, or pin-cushion them with their arrows.[3a]
Lead by their Snarlbosses, Gitmob hordes are capable of surprisingly cunning tactics. Due to their exposure to the enlightening influence of Hysh, these Grot warlords posses a sense of strategy that has caught many foes off guard. Yet, for all their cunning, Gitmob grots often fail to comprehend the consequences of their schemes. A Snarlboss' plan is just as likely to spin wildly out of control as they are to devolve into uncontrolled violence.[3f]

Warlords and Leaders
- Snarlboss on Snarlfang: To rise through the ranks, a Snarlboss must prove not only their strength and cunning, but also their ability to tame the lupine beasts known as Snarlfang Alphas. Some of the oldest and most intelligent of their species, Snarlfang Alphas understand well that their alliance with grot-kind is one of convenience, and so taming one takes true tenacity from any Grot. Snarlbosses are often accompanied by their Wolfgit Retinue, cronies that watch out for their boss in battle. Often the retinue are also a boss's greatest rivals, kept close so that he can keep an eye on their sneaky schemes.[3f]
- Snarlboss on War-Wheela: To become a Snarlboss, a Grot must earn the service of a Snarlfang Alpha, a trial which few aspirants survive. Truly rare, then, is the might of those Snarlbosses that manage to tame two Snarlfang Alphas and lash them to the front of their War-wheela. These bosses are as mighty as they are reckless, and many fit jars of Hyshian Light and Loondust to their chariot. As the chariot picks up speed, this mixture becomes violently unstable. When uncorked and ignited by a Snotling, the jets of blinding flames allow for great bursts of speed.[3f]
- Frazzlegit Shaman on War-Wheela: Eccentric even by the standards of Grot mages, these solar wizards ride into battle on top of a chariot-mounted pole to be closer to the light of the sun. Through their effigy-capped staves, they can absorb the light around them and condense it into choking frazzlemist, directing these lung-melting fumes at their enemies.[3f]
Cavalry
- Snarlfang Riders: The howling heart of a Gitmob horde, they posses a speed and mobility that leaves other Grots far behind. Snarlfang riders prefer to fight an enemy sitting tightly in their saddle. As such, they prefer to skewer them from afar with arrows, and deliver the killing blow with their jagged lances.[3f]
- Snarlpack Cavalry: The closest thing the Gitmobs have to shock troops. Two grots riding on massive Giant Snarlfangs, equipped with hardened leather armour and "skewa" lances, Snarlpack Cavalry can punch through a full plate armour or the thickest hide. While naturally braggadocios, these grots must band together in order to raise their Giant Snarlfang mount from birth. [3f]
War machines
- Doom Diver Catapult: The ultimate symbol of the Gitmob's ingenuity, and also the prime example of their philosophy of expendability. Each shot of the Doom Diver Catapult uses live ammunition, grots inducted into the Doom Divers. Each grot wears a helmet that rapidly absorbs light during the flight, and unleashes it all in a large explosion upon impact. The mechanism of the Catapult is operated by a Snotling, for they are even more expendable than the Divers. A guide-grot steers the machine as it is pulled along by a 'krag-smasha', a dull-eyed but sure-footed bovine beast with great traction across all kinds of terrain.[3f]
- Sunsteala Wheelas: Each of these chariots is made of woven wicker and adorned with depictions of Glareface Frazzlegit. The lightweight construction of the chariot allows them to reach great speed, but the highly flammable material also makes them vulnerable to accidents. The solar energy stored in the icons can easily set the chariot ablaze, once they get set-off. However, if the Wheela is able to collide with the enemy first, this energy can be discharged in a blinding flash that disorientates their foes.[3f]
Awright, my lovelies. Da sun is shinin'. Da Snarlfangs are starvin'. And dere's a big load of pointy-ears stood right in our way. Those gitz always think we're easy pickins. So light up da bombs, sharpen da stikkas and strap up da divers - we're goin' huntin.

Gitmobs territories are made up of two parts, their lair, and the surrounding plains and open fields surrounding it.[3g]
Gitmob hordes usually retreat to their mountain dens at night. Here they craft new 'gubbinz' and tinker with their machines. It is also where they display their trophies. Unlike Moonclan caverns, Gitmob dens are much closer to the surface, allowing sunlight to shine through the crude cave entrance, a signal to the horde that the time to hunt is nigh.[3g]
Once the light of Hysh touches their lands, they are out, roaming the plans. Collecting as much light as possible in their gubbinz, which they will then store in their den again.[3g]
While originating in the blinding bright lands of Hysh, Gitmob dens can be found in many realms. After their exodus from Ymetrica, the Sunchompaz have claimed the lands of Golvaria in the Great Parch for themselves. Massive hordes of Snarlfangs prowl these lands, lead by Droggz himself.[3g]
With their home in Aqshy secured, the mighty warlord has turned his attention to Hysh, seeking to reclaim the Sunchompaz's lost lands in Ymetrica.[3g]
