Maw-grunta with Hakkin' Krew
A Maw-grunta with Hakkin' Krew is a is a brutal innovation in Ironjawz military strategy. In addition to the orruk riding on the Maw-grunta's back and nominally directing its rampages, platforms are affixed to the beast's flanks so additional Ironjawz can ride along and hack at enemies just out of the beast's path of destruction.[1b]

Capture
This particular variant of Maw-grunta cavalry is normally made when an ambitious mob of orruks decide to capture a Maw-grunta together. Absent the direction of an aspiring Tuskboss, the mob generally attempts to lure one of the giant boars into a location where they can leap atop its back from above - or, better yet, get some grots to leap atop its back from above - and chain a harness and saddle to it. The biggest orruk claims pride of place in the saddle where he can control the beast, while other survivors chain themselves to platforms strapped to the flanks.[1b]
Combat
Once the rider has aimed his mount at his target, he rarely tries to control it - not that he could even if he wanted to - and simply swings at nearby enemies with his pair of choppas. The orruks attached to the flanks swing heavy kill-choppas at whatever manages to avoid the Maw-grunta itself.[1b]
Equipment
Most of the chains and platforms used to secure the Ironjawz to their mount are made of heavy iron, but the favoured material for the harness is the jawbone of a monstrous predator; proper metal harnesses that can fit a Maw-grunta are harder to find than giant jawbones are in Ghur.[1a][1b]
