Gollop

Gollops are sacred gatherings between the Butchers and Slaughtermasters of many Mawtribes, which occur at holy places throughout the Realm of Ghur where the power and ravenous hunger of the Gulping God are especially keen. The faithful priests of the Gulping God are drawn to these places by strange visions and dreams.[1a]

Pilgrimmage

Sometimes prophetic dreams and visions will come to Butchers and Slaughtermasters after meals. These visions show them some holy place in the Realm of Ghur where the power of the Gulping God is in abundance, these can be great forests of fleshy trees, subterranean lakes of acid, or even acidic lakes.[1a]

A Butcher who experiences these visions will leave their Warglutt behind and set out on pilgrimage to visit the holy site seen in their visions, accompanied only by Gnoblars and Gorgers. They will gather up copious amounts of ingredients and meats while on this journey, which is oft long and arduous.[1a]

Festivities

Once the Butchers and Slaughtermasters, usually hailing from dozens of Mawtribes, arrive at the destined location they will stage the Gollop, a great festival of gluttony dedicated to the Gulping God. The gathered pilgrims share recipes and choice meats, drink generously, and butcher massive amounts of captives, who are consumed by the revelling pilgrims. The gastromantic power created by such a festival causes the surrounding land to cannibalize itself.[1a]
