A Wardroth Bettle ridden by Alarielle.

A Wardroth Beetle is one of the largest spites. It is a living battering ram capable of breaking both infantry and fortifications.[1] On the rare occasions that a Wardroth Beetle dies, the soulseeds in its thorax can be harvested by the Sylvaneth to reincarnate it anew. When the Sylvaneth allow it, the inhabitants of the Living City create the instruments known as Wardroth Horns from the horns of fallen beetles.[2a]

A Wardroth Beetle serves as the personal mount of Alarielle. Should the Radiant Queen wish to fly, the Wardroth Beetle will turn into a swarm of glowspites, only to return to its original form when she lands.[1]
