Thunderstrike Armour, or Thunderstrike War-Plate, is sigmarite armour worn by Stormcast Eternals of the Thunderstrike Hosts.[1][2a]

History

Thunderstrike Armour, named in honour of Vandus Hammerhand's Thunderstrike Brotherhood, was created by Grungni after his much-celebrated return to the Realm of Azyr. For twelve moons-cycles he laboured, the fury of the storms that power the Sigmarabulum scarring his divine skin, to create the first suit of thunderstrike armour.[2a]

Thunderstrike Armour harnesses enhanced celestial armour compared to its older counterparts, making it harder to control. Early travesties, such as the Dharroth Cataclysm and Actinic Unforging, proved that souls with raw grit and mental flexibility wear needed to master the armour. It would be Bastian Carthalos, Lord-Commander of the Hammers of Sigmar, who would first harness the full potential of Thunderstrike's divine power; when he vanquished the Daemons of Khorne pouring from the Snow Peaks' Carmine Vaults single-handledly.[2a]

Since then Thunderstrike Armour has been distributed across all the Stormhosts, with some newly forged hosts being comprised of members who are solely encased in the armour.[2a]

Purpose

Thunderstrike Armour is designed to puncture the Cursed Skies created by Be'lakor, ensuring their bearer's safe return to the Realm of Azyr should they fall in battle.[1]
