Testudinous is a noble Godbeast and the Patron of Achromia, whose celestial form watched them from the night sky. He died defending the land under his protection from a Tzeentchian-corrupted godbeast.[1c]
Appearance
Testudinous is described as a world-sized, divine draconic turtle with a celestial form that watched Achromia from the night sky.[1c]
History
Age of Myth
Testudinous' death was predicted by the mages of Azyr, who warned the people of Achromia of his impending demise.[1b]
The invasion of Tzeentch to the Realm of Chamon pushed the people of Achromia to its edges, but the nations on its edges resisted him. To break this resistance Tzeentch unleashed a corrupted Godbeast from some other realm and Testudinous came down from the skies to fight the monstrous deity. The battle lasted nine hundred days, with the dragon turtle god dealing many blows to the monstrosity, but ended with his armour broken. Shards of his shell rained upon the land and caused massive destruction. The battle ended when Testudinous dealt a fatal blow to the monstrosity and it responded by biting out his throat as they both fell into the land, the impact shattering it into a hundred million parts.[1c]
Like many stories from the Age of Myth, this is merely a legend, notably told in Barak-Thrund. Some, like the Khemists of that Sky-Port, believe that Godbeasts are not real, and that instead the land was broken by the fall of a moon or a continent.[1c]
Trivia
- In the centre of the Skyshoals there is a vortex named after this deity called the Eye of Testudinous.[1a]
- The only known Tzeentch-corrupted Godbeast is Argentine. Legend states that whatever it was that Testudinous fought was mutually slain in combat and Argentine was still alive during the Age of Sigmar.
