Magmic Invocations

Magmic Invocations are magical constructs forged of arcane fire that bring death to the foes of the Fyreslayers that can be summoned by Zharrgrim priests. They are a result of the increased magical energies after the Necroquake and is similar to Endless Spells but cannot be dispelled normally by wizards and have a temperamental nature causing it to randomly disappear on its own like the Judgements of Khorne. Judgements of Khorne

Judgements of Khorne are the physical manifestations of the Blood God’s power and rage unleashed upon the Mortal Realms by priests of Khorne. [1a][1b]

History

Khorne despises magic as it is the antithesis of strength, skill and face-to-face slaughter which are the sole tenets of worship that he demands. The practitioners of magic spend their lives studying ancient tomes and learning obsequious litanies and in battle they either eschew close combat or use their powers to aid them, a deceit similar to those who attempt to triumph through trickery and artifice rather than pure brawn, martial skill, and sheer bloody-minded physical determination. Khorne holds nothing but contempt for Nagash, the Great Necromancer and self-proclaimed God of Death whose armies of the dead fight in endless battles without fury or righteous anger. In death they do not spill blood to please and invigorate Khorne and instead there is only magic in them. [1b]

It was Nagash that constructed of a vast black pyramid of harvested realmstone in the heart of Shyish to rip the souls out of every living thing in the realms, destroying all life only for the spell to be befouled at the last moment by Skaven. Thus the ritual ended with a backlash of fell energies that overwhelmed Nagash and swept across the void, and from there into each of the Mortal Realms which would come to be known as the Necroquake. This loosed rampant undeath and wild magic causing the dead to arise and attack the living while a powerful new type of sorcery rampaged across the landscape, endless spells that, once cast, moved with a mind of their own.[1b]

Upon looking down from his brass throne, Khorne was enraged, Endless Spells were not only flying across the battlefields, but continuing to stalk the lands long after the conflict in which they were invoked had ended. In his simmering fury, Khorne issued a new blood-edict. While Khorne always demanded the destruction of sorcerers, with the arrival of the period known as the Arcanum Optimar more immediate boons were given to those who slew spellcasters, the gorier and spectacular the death, greater the reward. So hot was Khorne’s anger that his gaze pierced the veil of reality with a new intensity and when saw his minions beset by sorcerous powers, the heat of his glare became palpable invigorating Slaughterpriests who could now use the blazing power of the Blood God’s hatred to unbind the very fabrics that held those spells together.[1b]

The to first invoke a judgement of Khorne was Lakshar Bloodspeaker, Korghos Khul’s chief Slaughterpriest within the Goretide. It happened in the Scablands, where the barrier between reality and the Realm of Chaos was already stretched thin. With offerings of blood and sheer hatred, the Slaughterpriest’s ritual caused a Skull Altar to rise from the ground and upon it members of a Tzeentchian cult were sacrificed. When the cult’s leader was brought to the altar, Lakshar’s chants summoned forth a blazing icon of Khorne above the tribute’s head which plunging down to skewer the sorcerer upon its sharpened brass prongs. Soon Khornate priests found that, through the power of their focused hatred and maledictive chants, they could summon manifestations from Khorne’s domain. Skull Altars appeared, rising as if grown from the battlefield itself and from these skull tributes could be transferred directly to the base of the Skull Throne which eldritch forces were dampened around them. Vows of violence against wizards were rewarded with Hexgorger Skulls, while purest rage called forth a vengeful axe that chopped down from the sky to cleave those who dared stand against Khorne’s will and Bleeding Icons appeared declaring Khorne’s dominance and the impending doom of his enemies. With the judgements of Khorne, the Blood God’s followers met the increased arcane power of their foes head on and it was the that Slaughterpriests led the way into this new era.[1b]
