Svoringar

Svoringar is the ancient, tonal language of the Beastclaw Raiders. It is a guttural, harsh language spoken by many alfrostuns and has numerous local variations and dialects. The Beastclaw Raiders keep the secrets of their language and communicate with the Gutbusters in simple Ogor language.^[1a][3a]

Lexicon

The core of the language appears at first simply because it has a poor vocabulary with just a handful of verbs. The meaning of each word can vary greatly depending on the emphasis. Each word is represented by an angular rune, often painted on the skin, armor, or the fur of war beasts.

The Ogors of the Beastclaw Raiders keep most of their language secret and there are several known words whose meaning is hidden, and some who have no known Mark.

  • Svoringar name of the Winterbite Mawtribe.
• Svard
  • Literally: Unbreakable Ones^[1b].
  • Svoringar name of the Boulderhead Mawtribe.
• Svogork
  • Posts made of bone and stone, topped with the face of Gorkamorka.^[2b]
  • Shrines placed on the highest point the tribe can find and left with sacrifices to the Hungering God.^[2b]
