Steamhead Pioneers
Steamhead Pioneers are the precursors of the Kharadron Overlords, whose experiments with aether-gold throughout the Age of Myth led to many technological innovations in air travel, eventually culminating into the creation of the early sky-ports.[1b][2][3a]
History
Age of Myth
The Steamhead Pioneers of Chamon's Godwrought Isles discover ways to extract and harness aether-gold, which they dub Breath of Grungni as they believe it is the lingering essence of the Smith-God. This miraculous mineral is found in the skies of the Mortal Realms, notably swirling around the angular peaks of the mountains of the Godwrought Isles.[1b]
Age of Chaos
During the Age of Chaos the old karaks of the Khazalid Empires in the Spiral Crux were destroyed one by one by the encroaching daemonic legions and mortal servants loyal to the Dark Gods. Those holds that were not broken open and overrun, became the graves of their starving denizens. Only a few cities escaped the ravages of this age through the combination gyrocraft technology and the innovations of the Steamhead Pioneers. With these technologies entire cities were raised into the sky on endrinspheres and aethermatic energisers, becoming the first sky-ports.[1a][1b]
