The Shrine of the Last Days' Warning is a radical cult of Sigmarites outside of the Realm of Azyr that believe that all the [[Mortal Realms], and everything in them, except Azyr are irrevocably tainted and deserve damnation.[1b]

Hierarchy

Congregations of the Shrine of the Last Days' Warning are led by individuals bearing the title of Lantern Bearer.[1a]

Beliefs and Teachings

The Shrine of the Last Days' Warning are radical in their beliefs. They believe that everything not of the Realm of Azyr is irrevocably tainted, even their own flesh, that Sigmar tests the moral fortitude of his followers through unending tests, and that they above others are Chosen. To them life is corruption, suffering, and pain that they must endure until a prophesied.[1b]

This prophesied hour, known as Sigmar's Last Hour, is when the cult believes Sigmar will call his true faithful back to Azyr for eternal succour. The unbelievers, including other Sigmarites outside Azyr, will be damned to the machinations of the Dark Gods as shall the other Mortal Realms. In their belief system Sigmar did not send the Free Peoples to reclaim the Realms, but exiled them to test their faith and rid himself of unbelievers.[1b]

The cult's congregations are held around a sacred shrine. Other than this the cult requires very few trappings from their followers, though members believe that objects of Azyrite origin are holy and place them around their shrine.[1b]

Membership

Members of the Shrine are known as Chosen and They Who Heard the Warnings.[1b]

Known Sects

  • A congregation of the Shrine of the Last Days' Warning arose in the Free City of Draconium led by Krysthenna the Lantern Bearer. They, believing they had seen the signs of Sigmar's Last Hour, left the city en masse during its darkest hour becoming some of the first victims of the Gloomspite seeking to overthrow the city.[1b][1c]

Religious Symbols and Icons

An important gesture of the cult is the Opening Gates, a gesture done by interlocking and then untwining one's hands.[1b]
