The Penumbrial was a tower shaped like a crooked claw fond in the Realm of Shyish. It was ruled over by Anasta Malkorion, the Countess of Dread.[1]

History

Age of Sigmar

One night the vampires of Penumbrial descend upon the villages surrounding the Fovos Keep and slaughter them, leaving only a few survivors. One such survivor is Ullior Arkhant, who Anasta Malkorion allows to escape as part of a plan to have the boy grow up consumed by dread.[1]

The survivors flee to the Fovos Keep, but after some years it is eventually abandoned. The keep is only restored when a detachment of Anvils of the Heldenhammer pass through it on campaign. They leave their mortal followers, the newly dubbed Wallguard of Fovos Keep, to defend it. Ullior Arkhant, now a grown man who has fought beside the Anvils for years, is named Captain.[1]

Some weeks later the vampires of Penumbrial attack the keep and slaughter its garrison. Ullior, now consumed by dread, is devoured by Anasta Malkorion.[1]

Geography

The Penumbrial is a claw-like tower protruding from the tallest hill of a collection of black hills. Located Edgeward from the Penumbrial is the Fovos Keep, which is located amid wind-lashed plains bereft of soil.[1]

Inhabitants

The tower plays host to a number of Soulblight Vampires, including at least one Vargheist.[1]
