The Lore of Heavens, also known as Celestial Magic, refers to a class of magic and spells that show the dominant colour and hold the elemental characteristics of the Realm of Azyr, the realm of heavens. The magic of Azyr rises like a storm, then slips away like a gentle rain. It is the crash of thunder and the shimmer of the stars. The magic of the heavens allows one to read the future, for it holds the power of foresight, fate, and the wrath of the cosmos.[1a]

Amongst the battlemages of the Collegiate Arcane, those wizards that specialize in the Lore of Heavens are known as Celestial Battlemages. These battlemages may be called forth in the most dire moments when a Celestial Hurricanum is needed. The Celestial Battlmages or Acolytes that operate these arcane war machines can channel great celestial energies drawn in by the machine's orreries.[3a] Besides the mortal Celestial Wizards who practice the Lore of Heavens, the Wizardry of the Stormcast Eternals are also known to utilize celestial magic.[2c][2i] Foremost amongst them are the Lord-Arcanums, masters of aetheric lightning who can manipulate the cerulean energy of Azyr. With the potency of Azyr coursing through them, a Lord-Arcanum can summon lightning as easily as another man draws breath.[4a] The Lord-Exorcists, once holy men in life, can likewise channel celestial energies for the purposes of banishing daemons and gheists.[4b] Amongst the knighthood of the Stormcasts are the Knights-Incantor who are gifted stormcallers, able to summon hurricane winds and gales of mystical energy,[4c] a talent which the Evocators likewise utilize.[4d]
