Lexicanum:Forum
This is a forum to discuss updates and edits to the Lexicanum. These forums are a temporary measure and will be transferred to a new system when we can.
All rules from the Lexicanum still apply here:
- You can make your own section, but check first if there is already one about it.
- You can discuss lore, but only in the context of an edit. Outside of it use the Lexicanum Discord server for that purpose. Link here.
- Don't be hostile or rude to other editors.
- Don't post links to illegal content.

Lexicanum Projects
Here is a list of the various Lexicanum projects we have and their objectives.
- Forum: Seeks to ease up conversation about large general edits.
- To-Do List: A list of things that we have to do.
- Navigation Templates: Seeks to make the navigation templates easier to analyse and compare for any issues.
- Hinted Factions: Seeks to analyse the background and lore of Age of Sigmar for possible new factions. A fun project.
- Source Database: A database of sources archived on the Internet Wayback Machine ready to be used.
- Taxonomy: Notes on creature taxonomy to help us organize creature categories.
The following are a few projects that are no longer worked on:
- Age of Sigmar: Sought to organize and establish Age of Sigmar area in the old Fantasy Lexicanum.
- Age of Sigmar Sources: Sought to record sources to possible articles. Quickly turned out to be too much work and was abandoned.
Unit pages
I've seen that you guys have been updating the Unit pages and I want to say great job! That particular type of pages are some of the most important and some that need the most work.
I would also like to know your opinion on replacing manual lists of character for the unit pages with automatic category based ones? I added these dynamic lists so that unit pages would be much easier to manage. We could explore on adding these dynamic lists to other pages but for now let's keep it at unit pages.--Ashendant (talk) 13:46, 16 November 2019 (MST)
SPLIT!
2019-12-06 - The AoS and FB wiki are officially split. Please read the rules to avoid any issues.
Rules
Rules for the split: (For now you don't need to tell us, as the cleaning work as yet to start)
- If you see an article or image that's not on the right Lexi, tell the mods to import it below. Don't try to copy paste it yourself. If you do this the mods will have to delete your transfer and then import it themselves.
- If you see an article or image that's in both wikis, when it should be only one, don't blank the page. Add a {{Delete}} tag on it and tell the mods to delete it below.
- Don't do this for broken redirects. The Lexicanum already compiles a list of these and it's easier to deal with them through that particular tool.
- If you see an article in either Lexi with a name that's not longer usable due to the split, for example with the article name containing "of the mortal realms", "of the World-That-Was" "(age of sigmar faction)" Tell the mods below.
- This rule does not apply if you've just created the article and nobody else but you made edits on it.
To-Do
- Organize Publications categories, terminology and covers.
- Update the following articles so it only has AoS content and FB content is removed:
- Create List of Units for:
- War Cry
- Underworlds
- Warhammer Quest
- Multi-Faction Armies
- Create navigation templates for:
- Multi-Faction Armies
- Realms
Global Review
After everything above is mostly done, I need to do a global review.
- Confirm if it's properly sourced. Add {{Specify}} where it's incomplete.
- Correct images that are broken.
- Add missing wiki links.
- Check name and data on files.
- Review unit articles.
Discussion
Hey everyone! The split has finally happened and we now have a wiki for AoS and a wiki for FB. Soon I will start cleaning the wikis by deleting articles. I still have to discuss some other stuff with the other admins before I truly start to work on it. I will start to do the FB wiki stuff since it's far easier to clean than the reverse(Because AoS categories are well-organized). As you can see in the To-Do list above we have plenty of stuff to do. Good luck everyone!--Ashendant (talk) 16:06, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
Announcement
So most of the FB content has been deleted and the AoS articles have been moved to the proper places. There's still a bit of work to do but unless you dive deep the average user would not find it. So starting tomorrow I'm going to make some announcements around the web telling people the AoS Lexi exists.--Ashendant (talk) 15:30, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
BloodBowl
Which Wiki should have Bloodbowl stuff? --Viktor (talk) 14:53, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
- It should have it's own, but since it's an alternative reality of FB it should exclusively be in the other Lexi.--Ashendant (talk) 16:09, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
Improvements
List of Prayers
Put a bit of elbow grease and updated the List of Prayers to work like the List of Spells does. Didn't add any prayers, just used those already on the Lexi. What does everybody think of this new format?--Ashendant (talk) 21:27, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
List of Units
I've reworked the list of units for the List of Gloomspite Gitz units and their corresponding sub-faction lists. Again this is a test run, but in the future I will be changing all list to work like this. Does anybody have any opinions or suggestions.--Ashendant (talk) 22:52, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
- I like it--User:Xking
- I've done some further work on the Units List pages and made the following test runs:
- Created a List of units to replace the List of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar units page. This page will be a bit smaller as it will not contain Unique or Legacy units, unlike the current example, which will have their own pages. The old list was too big, which took some time to load, so by reducing we are trying to ease up the data size.
- Created a Navbar for these new Lists at Template:Nav Units. This should make it easier to navigate between the big lists.
- Created a List of Destruction units, currently only contain Gloomspite Gitz and Grot Scutlings. As we progress further we will add more factions and other Grand Alliances.
- Created a Navbar for use in Destruction units lists at Template:Nav Destruction Units. Other GAs will follow.
- Now here's my doubts about this new method. How should we deal with Mercenary Companies? Should we add them to the faction lists or just keep them out of this?--Ashendant (talk) 19:37, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
I think Mercenary Companies should be there own thing--User:Xking
In pages like List of Destruction units, should I have Main or Unique as the 1st section(the other would become 2nd).--Ashendant (talk) 19:53, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
List of Destruction units is done! I would be grateful if anybody could give it a 2nd look and find if anything's missing.--Ashendant (talk) 19:06, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- List of Forgeworld units also done!--Ashendant (talk) 21:38, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- List of Scenery done too!--Ashendant (talk) 20:38, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- Also done with the Grand Alliance Navigation Bars for unit lists Chaos - Order - Death--Ashendant (talk) 21:27, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- List of Unique units done too!--Ashendant (talk) 22:21, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- List of Endless Spells Done!--Ashendant (talk) 20:31, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- List of Chaos units and List of Compendium units done! Also added list of Warcry and Underworlds to the to-do list.--Ashendant (talk) 16:57, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- List of Endless Spells Done!--Ashendant (talk) 20:31, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- List of Unique units done too!--Ashendant (talk) 22:21, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Also done with the Grand Alliance Navigation Bars for unit lists Chaos - Order - Death--Ashendant (talk) 21:27, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- List of Scenery done too!--Ashendant (talk) 20:38, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- List of Order units done! Everyone should check if they find any issues in the above lists. This should be everything for the main AoS game. I'll leave Warcry and Undeworlds for another time. Now i'm going to deal with the most disfigured pages, the faction pages, while creating the faction navigation boxes at the same time.--Ashendant (talk) 18:19, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
Main Page
Also we should add links to Gods, demigods and magic on the main page. As these things are major themes in AoS.--User:Xking
- I think we'll deal with that at a later stage. I'll make a note of it.--Ashendant (talk) 19:53, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
Stormcast Eternals are Humans?
Should Stormast Eternal characters, like Aventis Firestrike, have the Category: Humans on them?--Ashendant (talk) 17:25, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
Yes--Xking (talk) 22:03, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- Yes agreed, I tend to add it to Stormcast when I notice its missing - I think only a couple may be non-human now. --Viktor (talk) 15:33, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
New Faction Names
Now that the split has happened, we need to deal with the factions names that I've have been delaying for a very long time. The following topics are something I need the opinions of everyone as once it's done it will require a lot of category moving and it's not something we're likely to do again. So please give me your question, opinions and suggestions.--Ashendant (talk) 22:34, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
- First 3 topics are solved. Only need to deal with Missing Factions pages.--Ashendant (talk) 21:51, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Simple Renames
We need to heavily consider changing some factions names, both to simplify them and consider official changes. Here are my suggested name changes:
- Gitmob Grots - Gitmob
- Moonclan Grots - Moonclan
- Spiderfang Grots - Spiderfang
- Skaven/Clans Pestilens - Pestilens
- Skaven/Clans Skryre - Skryre
- Skaven/Clans Eshin - Eshin
- Skaven/Clans Moulder - Moulder
- Skaven/Clans Verminus - Verminus
- Skaven/Clans Masterclan - Masterclan
--Ashendant (talk) 22:34, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
Complex Faction Renames
There are few factions which the issue is more complex than that:
- Hosts of Slaanesh should be renamed Hedonites of Slaanesh and all Daemons should be in the Daemons of Slaanesh faction. The Slaanesh Mortals faction still remains unnamed so I've little idea on how to deal with them.
- Chaos Gargant should be fused with Monsters of Chaos.
- What should we do with Everchosen faction? Keep it as it is or fuse it with Slaves to Darkness?
- Should we rename the Free People faction as Freeguild?
--Ashendant (talk) 22:34, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
- Free Peoples to Freeguild is fine - some characters whould change to become generic Order charcters as they are not Freeguild but all the units are I think. --Viktor (talk) 17:35, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- The only unit that didn't get the Freeguild Keyword in the CoS was the Freeguild Archer which retain the Free Peoples Keyword(And I'm going to act on the assumption that that units changed factions). I think at some point GW is going to turn Freeguild, Devoted and Collegiate into the sub-factions of Free Peoples faction. Anyway you're right we should move those Characters into Order or Cities of Sigmar characters.--Ashendant (talk) 20:24, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- I moved all non Freeguild into generic Order for now. --15:47, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

- Agreed --Viktor (talk) 17:35, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Which faction? Gargants or Hedonites?--Ashendant (talk) 20:24, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- I was just commenting on the Freeguild as I don't have the current Monsters of Chaos or Everchosen Battletome, the recent White Dwarf Host of Syll'Esske does have non daemon units which are just referred to as "Mortals" so we could use "Hedonites of Slaanesh Mortals" but they are also Slaves to Darkness as they are generic units? not sure. Are all Slaanesh Daemons Hedonites? We also have another campaign pack coming out soon featuring Slaves to Darkness--Viktor (talk) 15:31, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
- Which faction? Gargants or Hedonites?--Ashendant (talk) 20:24, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- There isn't a Monsters of Chaos battletome and the Everchosen one is very old. In that regard I choose to treat Everchosen as a sub-faction of Slaves to Darkness.
- I'll just shove Slaaneshi Mortals in a sub-list of the Hedonites of Slaanesh. There's just 3 units with 2 of them being legacy. Hellstriders have no Slaves to Darkness keyword so they are not of that faction.
- All units with the Slaanesh keyword(including all demons) are part of the Hedonites of Slaanesh army. Even Beasts of Chaos that gain that keyword from their battalion are automaticly Hedonites.--Ashendant (talk) 23:43, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
- I've moved much of the content in Free Peoples to the Freeguilds page. Should be much easier to update now.--Ashendant (talk) 20:48, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
- This is done. Summary of what I did:
- Split Hosts into Hedonites and Daemons. Used Hedonites as a temporary category for all Mortal Slaanesh content.
- Chaos Gargants fused with Monsters of Chaos. Content of Chaos Gargantscopied to Chaos Gargant. Chaos Gargants faction labelled as a Defunct Faction.
- Everchosen remains untouched.
- Free Peoples content moved to Freeguild. Free Peoples page labelled as Defunct Faction.
Categorization Issues
We also need to consider issues with factions that have the same name as the main race, atleast for categorization purposes.
- Sylvaneth
- Seraphon
- Troggoths
--Ashendant (talk) 22:34, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
- Fixed this. Split categories into "<faction name> (race)" and "<faction name> (faction)". Old categories where labelled as Blank categories and where shove into Lexicanum Maintenance category.--Ashendant (talk) 20:25, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Missing Factions
Lastly we need to create articles for combo/soup and forgeworld factions, which includes:
- Blades of Khorne
- Disciples of Tzeentch
- Hedonites of Slaanesh
- Maggotkin of Nurgle
- Skaventide
- Beasts of Chaos
- Each of the Cities of Sigmar + Leithisian Defenders
- Each of the Legions of Nagash + Legion of Grief
- Gloomspite Gitz
- Orruk Warclans
- Ogor Mawtribes
- Legion of Azgorh
- Fimirach
- Tamurkhan's Horde
- Monsters of Order
- Monsters of Destruction
--Ashendant (talk) 22:34, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
- All but Grief is done - little source matrerial for that sadly. --Viktor (talk) 17:35, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- I guess that's true for Legions, through I'm gonna need to figure out the unit list for each legion.--Ashendant (talk) 20:24, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Legion of Grief and Leithisian Defenders is from the Forbidden Power supplement.--Ashendant (talk) 23:31, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

I've finished most of the Faction Navigation Templates(base factions mostly, combo factions will do it when I have their unit lists). I've also created a project page just for Faction Navigation Templates at Lexicanum: Faction Templates that should make it easier to check for problems and discuss changes. Also moved all discussion on this topic in this forum to it's talk page.--Ashendant (talk) 20:54, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks thats helpful :)
Character Lists Template
New template for lists of characters has been created an applied to every relevant page. Tell me if there are any issues or you have any opinions!--Ashendant (talk) 00:04, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
Covers categories
Should I split the Age of Sigmar covers category in two, one for rulebooks the other for fiction?--Ashendant (talk) 22:40, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Flesh-Eater Courtiers
Should I fuse the Courtiers units of the Flesh-Eater Courts into one page? Does anybody that have this tome knows if they are put under one section or not?--Ashendant (talk) 22:40, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Soulbound
So the RPG Age of Sigmar Soulbound has been released. I hope this encourages people to join us and edit stuff from it.--Ashendant (talk) 15:29, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
- Oh thats good news - must pick up a copy :) --Viktor (talk) 16:44, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Is there a difference between a Skyrigger and a Skywarden?--Ashendant (talk) 14:41, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
- Both Endrinriggers and Skywardens are Skyriggers - I have noted this in their entries. --Viktor (talk) 21:24, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- From what i've read in the Cubicle 7 page about the Skyrigger is any Kharadron that can use the the flying ballon thing. Can anybody check if this is confirmed in the latest or a previous battletome?--Ashendant (talk) 16:33, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
I've noticed in a video with the index of the Soulbound that there is a Bestiary section with Creature Types. This is a major game changer for the Lexicanum categories and the List of Creatures. Can anybody provide with a screenshot containing part of the page on how each Type is defined?--Ashendant (talk) 16:33, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- Can anybody confirm if the Reclaimed Demesnes are called Demesnus at any time? This would simplify this article, Demesnus (region), a lot.--Ashendant (talk) 22:10, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
Creature Types
Was provided with a image containing the definitions of Creature Types and a list of examples(there are a few mistakes but nothing we can't correct).
Will start working on the Category: Creatures and afterwards the List of Creatures.--Ashendant (talk) 16:13, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Creature Types: | Automatons • Beasts • Daemons • Mortals • Spirits • Undead • Unknown |
---|
- Finished the first step of the categorization system, create a navbox and shove everything into one category. Next step is correcting the mistakes and create a section for unknown creatures. I did this very quickly in a slap-dash manner(specially the Beast section) . Feel free to correct any mistake you see.--Ashendant (talk) 21:51, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Adverts
Both of the sites are becoming virtually unusable due to adverts blocking the editing tabs --Viktor (talk) 17:11, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
- I will send a message to someone responsible after I have a conversation with the admin for the 40k.
- I personally have an adblocker so this doesn't affect me. Can't you do the same?--Ashendant (talk) 18:07, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
- For a bit it had improved now its virtually unusable again!!!. --Viktor (talk) 17:07, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'll send the message. I think the problem is that the ads agency are the one who makes the ads, without caring for if it causes us problems or not.--Ashendant (talk) 17:26, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
- I've received a message from the admins and he said they just did an ad overhaul so that the login buttons are not blocked by ads. He added that he's going to send a message to ad agency with this issue so that it hopefully doesn't happen again.
- So the issue should be solved, but if this happens again please do tell me so we can try to find what the issue is.--Ashendant (talk) 12:53, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

Source Database
I moved an userpage I had and turned it into a project. The Lexicanum: Source Database seeks to archive links from games workshop using the Internet Wayback Machine. Feel free to contribute or use these sources to create your own articles.--Ashendant (talk) 20:21, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
I'm using this project to review old articles and create new articles for Old FB units in Age of Sigmar, while also adding images of all miniatures I have. Today I finished reviewing High Elves, which means Eldritch Council, Order Draconis, Lion Rangers, Phoenix Temple and Swifthawk Agents factions have updated articles for every unit in the Lexicanum. Here's a few examples for every faction:
- Archmage from Eldritch Council
- White Lion from Lion Rangers
- Dragon Noble from Order Draconis
- Swifthawk Chariot from Swifthawk Agents
- Anointed from Phoenix Temple
I hope you guys like this. I will try to do Dark Elves next.--Ashendant (talk) 15:27, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
Lumineth Realm-lords
Am I ok to add stuff from Warhammer community about them? --Viktor (talk) 20:32, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
- Sure. If there are any problems I will correct them.--Ashendant (talk) 21:06, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
- Created the Nav Template and the List of Units to help.--Ashendant (talk) 16:24, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
Preceded by / Followed by in Stories
I have a question here. Is Preceded by / Followed by the order the stories are published? If yes, wouldn't it make more sence when the stories would be showing which story is before or after in the lore. Or are their Lists with the Order somewhere else? EMMachine (talk) 10:02, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- Good question - soemtimes the order of the books/stpories follows the their order in lore --Viktor (talk) 11:41, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- In a german wiki I already try to get the Lore-order. Sometimes it get's problematic if there are multiple prequels or sequels because of the Characters (but order of Publishing seems quite weird most of the time and I don't know if it helps the community. The Question came to me because of the Neferata stories. After The Dance of the Skulls (short story) for example has a mentioning that the Warriors of the Everchosen have been fought back, I don't think that it would be before Neferata: Mortarch of Blood (novel). In case of Gotrek and Hamilcar I actually ask the Authors on Twitter, and if they are correct I would have a right order for the stories of both. EMMachine (talk) 12:03, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- Tricky as GW does not use any form of calandar in AOS - Mortarch of Blood is also set in several time periods - but I think you are right in this case ? I need to add in the other short story/audio drama as well which is definately between Mof Blood and Dominon of Bones - I might change the borken link on the Neferata pages to her book series. --Viktor (talk) 12:18, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- I know. That's a bad thing about age of Sigmar. I think the strange thing about Neferatas Storyline is that the Story Lord of Undeath seems to be somewhere inside Neferata: Mortarch of Blood (novel) because that story is The Siege of Nulahmia. The audiobook you mean is Black Atonement, isn't it? I have included the Order of the Hamilcar and Gotrek Stories into the Discussionprofile of my own User-Profile. EMMachine (talk) 12:57, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thats the one - I ahve audio and I think its now also a short story. Isn't Lord of Undeath after the first (slaanesh) siege rather than the second (Khorne) one ?- its not a fav novel of mine as Neferata is so weak in it.--Viktor (talk) 14:03, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- The Realmgate Wars: Lord of Undeath (novel) is the first Siege with Lascilion. At the beginning it is basicly the same story as in the Book The Realmgate Wars: Balance of Power, but it goes further with collecting Arkhan and Manfred as well. Maybe its a problem that the story was written bei C L Werner. In case of the mainstories he isn't my favorite writerEMMachine (talk) 14:26, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

File Name convention for Color Schemes
I've changed how Color Scheme files should be named and did a name change to every current image. It should follow the same model as how miniatures are named using a C instead of an M (Example: Hammers of Sigmar C01.jpg). This should simplify how these images work and make them easier to find. For those that don't know what I mean check Category:Color schemes.--Ashendant (talk) 15:38, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Grand Alliances factions lists
I'm going to replace the Faction lists in the Grand Alliance pages(Chaos, Death, Destruction, Order) with a Pictorial List like the one found in the Pictorial Bestiary. We will lost the descriptions, but the list will be much simple to manage. I will try to use Battletome Covers for this, but if I don't have this I will use what images we have.
Tell me if anybody has any objections.--Ashendant (talk) 13:00, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

Realm Spells need title renaming
The Lore of Hysh currently lists Realm Spells but according to the Lumineth Realm-lord battletome its a Lore of Hysh is one of their spell lores. Malign Portent only calls them Spells of Hysh and for others Spells of *realm name*. I think only Realmspell lists need to be renamed into Spells of *realm name* instead of Lore of *realm name*. and Lore of Hysh needs to be replaced with spells from Lumineth tome. - UMDP (talk) 17:51, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
Sure... Might be for the best.--Ashendant (talk) 23:10, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
