Ironwood is a species of tree found in the Realm of Ghyran and the Realm of Chamon.[1a][5a] It is highly valued for its strength and durability, and is used and grown by practitioners of Jade Magic in Ghyran, the Duardin known as the Root-Kings, and the Order of the Furrow.[1a][2a][3]

Properties

Through the use of Jade Magic and other means, Ironwood Trees can be shaped into armaments and armour as it grows.[1a]

Usage

There are many who make use of Ironwood throughout the Realm of Ghyran. These include the Order of the Furrow who were gifted seeds for their grove in Ghyrwood March by Alarielle herself[3], the Root-Kings who used it to craft their living shields[2a], and many practitioners of Jade Magic who have groves and gardens of ironwood armaments in many places across the Realm of Life.[1a]

The Order of the Furrow crafted a cathedral in Ghyrwood March, by manipulating the growth of ironwood trees.[3]

Crafters are known to use Ironwood as a more mundane crafting material as well. Members of the Ironweld Arsenal are known to use it for the stocks of their guns, the Wanderer Prince Maesa uses arrows crafted from ironwood, and some use it for construction material such as doors.[1a][4a][6a][7a]
