The Far Traders of Bataar are those merchants and traders of the Floating Market who have set out from their Flying City, to establish themselves in the markets of other cities and nations of the Great Parch.[1b][2a]

History

Age of Myth

The nation of Bataar first grew to prominence thanks to their trading of Firesilk, but after they forged their alliance with the magocratic city-states of Aspiria they began trading the sorcerous creations of the Aspirians as well, in exchange for gathering the strange substances the wizards of Aspiria requested.[1b]

The Far Traders of Bataar came to be welcomed in markets all across the Mortal Realms. The trades they conducted bringing wealth and prosperity to both Bataar and Aspiria.[1b]

Age of Sigmar

With the coming of Sigmar's Tempest and rise of great cities such as Hammerhal Aqsha, Brightspear, and Hallowheart the Far Traders once again spread across the Great Parch in search of opportunities to trade. Merchant Princes from the Realms of Azyr and Shyish eagerly compete with one another over opportunities to trade with the Far Traders for Bataari firesilk.[1a]

Trade

The Far Traders are known to trade far and wide, and wherever they go they bring Bataari Firesilk and famed Aspirian Coldfire, valuable commodities sought by many. The Far Traders are more than happy to accept coin and other currencies in exchange for their goods, but much prefer the system of bartering trade goods and favours that Bataari have used for millenia.[1b]

They happily trade with the Cities of Sigmar that have sprung up in the heart of the Great Parch, but are ever cautious while doing so as Bataari do not actively worship the God-King and the Far Traders dislike the monetary systems used by the Azyrites and Aqshians of the free cities.[1b]
