The Emerald Line is a border that separates the territories of claimed by Hammerhal Ghyra and the Chaos infested Hexwood. The Line is protected by a series of fortresses and watchtowers that extend as far north as Fort Gardus.[1a][2a]

History

Age of Sigmar

Skirmishes, sieges, and raids have long plagued the Emerald Line and all the watchtowers and settlements within it, with many smaller towns west of the watchtowers being destroyed.[2a]

But eventually a massive offensive by the Tzaangor Warflocks of the Hexwood assaulted the entire Line. This mass offensive first began with increased attacks on roads and couriers, escalating skirmishes against the Highoak and Willowflame watchtowers, and the siege of the Greenspire watchtower. Culminating in the all out assault of all the watchtowers along the Line.[2a]

Military

Each watchtower on the Line is a large, stone structure large enough to maintain and garrison a Freeguild company.[2a]

Co-ordination between the watchtowers is achieved through the use of special alchemical flames atop each watchtower, that continuously glow green to signal all is well. When a watchtower is assailed, chemicals will be added to its flame to turn it crimson and alert the neighboring watchtowers that aid is needed.[2a]
