The Deific Mons, the Mountain of Silent Gods, is a massive mountain of basalt, considered to be one of the wonders of the Mortal Realms. Atop the mountain exists a long abandoned fortress, whose doors are wide enough to fit an entire army marching abreast into.[1a][3a]

History

Age of Myth

It is believed that this fortress once played host to the gods, demigods, and titans of the Realm of Shyish, when they gathered to hold counsel.[1a] It was even considered one of the Great Wonders of the Mortal Realms.[2a]

Age of Sigmar

Whatever the original purpose for the mountain and its fortress was, they have long since been vacated.[1a] By this era the deities that were believed to have once ruled from the mountain fortress are removed as the Silent Gods.[3a]

The Deific Mons was chosen by the Legion of Grief as a gathering point during the Siege of Sorrow of the Soul Wars, its sheer size allowing the army to easily march inside and prepare to attack the city of Lethis.[1a]
