Death’s-head moths are insects that plagued the Free City of Hammerhal Ghyra during the Time of Tribulations.[1a]

History

Age of Sigmar

During the Time of Tribulations vast swarms of scorpion-locusts and death’s-head moths ravage and devour an entire season's worth of crops in Hammerhal Ghyra, forcing the city to fall back on reserves and leaving it's sister city Hammerhal Aqsha to starve. After lengthy debate, and assurances from Sylvaneth allies that trhe insects are not of the Realm of Life, the Grand Conclave decides to interpret the burning trajectory of Acelestis as a sign.

The Grand Conclave gathers many of Hammerhal Aqsha's Bright Mages together and has them create a massive firestorm, binding it with djinn-spirit and Aqshian curses. They then travel through the Stormrift Realmgate and prepare to set the spell loose on the insectile swarms, only for armies of Nighthaunts to rise up from the fields and attempt to attack them. The ghostly invaders are soon after slain by the city's defenders, and the mages complete their task, destroying the swarms of insects.[1a]
