The Cult of Burning Death was a necromantic cult based in the Lavafall District of Hammerhal Aqsha.[1a]
History

Cremation has ever been a normal form of mortuary rite accepted among the Sigmarites of Hammerhal, with the Lavafall Crematorium being one of the sacred resting places in the city. In the wake of the Necroquake demands for cremation skyrocketed. But many of the city's poorest could not pay the donations required to be interred in the Crematorium.[1a]
The Cult of Burning Death, led by Garnan Burl, arose at this time in the Lavafall District. The cult offered impoverished citizens of the cremation for a mere phial or two of Aqua Ghyranis. In their desperation to escape the clutches of Nagash, many accepted.[1a]
In reality, Garnan Burl is a Necromancer who, along with the cult, is responsible for the mutilation of many bodies destined for sacred crematoriums, taking their bones to give to Boneshapers of the Ossiarch Empire. A priest of the Lavafall Crematorium, Dornah Krist, comes to suspect Garnan of being a charlatan and employs the aid of a band of Soulbound to destroy the cult.[1a]
