Crawlerfort
The Crawlerforts were vast, crab-like monstrosities that lived in Ghur. These mutants creatures were used by the forces of Chaos to chain Fangathrak and Dreadholds were built on their shells.[1a] There are at least six known Crawlerforts.[2a][2b]
History
Age of Chaos
The Crawlerforts were used to chain and bind Fangathrak the World-Worm, whose gullet held the Arcway known as the Mawgate. Each of these crab-like monstrosities had a Chaos Dreadhold upon their backs, with a godly chain attaching them to the world-worm.[1a]
Fangathrak would fiercely resist it's captors and attempt to break away from it's chains throughout the Age of Chaos, but it never broke free. Time and time again the Crawlerforts would yank back it's fanged mouth the allowing armies of Chaos to march from the Allpoints into the Realm of Ghur, passing from the Realmgate hidden in it's gullet.[2a]
The six Crawlerforts were unable to keep Fangathrak still forever and the Godbeast would often be on the move, dragging the six Crawlerforts and the Dreadholds atop them wherever it went.[2a]
Age of Sigmar
Towards the end of the Realmgate Wars a three way war broke out for control of Fangathrak, while it and the Crawlerforts were in Ghur's Scarlands. The Chaos forces of the Crawlerforts found themselves at odds with the Stormcast Eternals and a host of Orruks led by Gordrakk. The chains binding fangathrak to the Crawlerforts were destroyed and the massive Godbeast escaped.[1a]
