Auric Flamekeepers are Fyreslayer funerary priests. The Flamekeepers are responsible for removing the ur-gold runes from fallen Fyreslayers prior to ritual cremation, and the Flamekeepers also oversee the funeral rite itself. As the Fyreslayers believe that their bodies must be properly cremated in order to be called from the stone-sleep to fight alongside Grimnir in the battle of Doomgron at the end of days, Flamekeepers are an imporant order of the Zharrgrim priesthood.
As funerary priests of a warrior priesthood, Auric Flamekeepers can often be seen ministering to the fyrd on the field of battle. When they do so, they bring along:
- A two-handed Brazier Axe.
- Their symbol of office, a Masterflame Rune said to be an ember of the first fire kindled when Grimnir was shattered. The rune can be used to empower warriors by channeling the power of the ur-gold runes of their fallen comrades.
- A death mask and heavy cloak of salamander hide, reflecting their role as a funerary priest.
