Vhordrai

Prince Vhordrai on Shordemaire

Prince Vhordrai, Fist of Nagash, Saint of Slaughter is a soulblight vampire and Blood Knight that heads the Kastelai Dynasty. [1][2a][3a]

Appearance

Prince Vhordrai is venerated as nothing less than a saint of slaughter by many Blood Knights, his crusades of blood being the stuff of legend amongst their knightly orders. Yet he remains bound to the Crimson Keep, a cursed citadel that can materialise from the ruins of shattered castles. Still there are many Blood Knights who regard it as a pilgrimage to seek out the Keep and fight at the prince’s side on those occassions he is allowed to ride forth. [1].

Prince Vhordrai is obssessed with elevating his martial skills to new heights, and even most practised living warriors are no match for him.[3a]

History

During the aftermath of the Battle of Black Skies, Vhordrai sought to end Nagash’s tyranny permanently and tried to hurl the remains of the Great Necromancer's physical body through the corrupted realmgate of Yulghuan to be devoured by the Dark Gods. But Arkhan the Black intervened and in a clash of sorcery and steel defeated Vhordrai who was then sealed within a realmstone coffin for an age. When Nagash returned the now half-insane Vhordrai was released and mystically bound to the Crimson Keep, doomed to an agonising demise should he vacate its walls for more than a day. Thus the ambitious prince was leashed making him the Fist of Nagash, delighting in the ruination of his master’s foes even as he raged at his bondage.[2b]

With the destruction of Nagash’s physical form again during the end of the Soul Wars Vhordrai wonders if he has been offered a second chance at freedom. But casting off his curse is no small feat and he has learnt the value of patience over the long centuries, and he would not risk defying the Great Necromancer twice without good cause.[2b] During his raids Vhordrai seizes loreseekers and artefacts of blood magic in hope that something will save him from Nagash's curse.[3a]

It was once said that Vhordrai had slain members of every creed and species. But after the return of Draconith and Kragnos himself this legend became all but false. Now Vhordrai seeks to kill the End of Empires.[3a]
