User talk:UMDP

Welcome to Warhammer - Age of Sigmar - Lexicanum! We hope you will contribute much and well. You will probably want to read the [Lexicanum:Help help pages]. Again, welcome and have fun! Ashendant (talk) 19:09, 14 December 2018 (MST)

Copypasting content

Her so I've noticed that you've been copypasting some content from certain places, most notably Gobbapalooza, which unfortunatly ill have to stick a WIP on it. I'm going to have to ask you to at least put minimal effort into the changing the texts so it isn't an exact replica from the original source. I personally try to rewrite every sentence that I see in the original source, but i'm not going to demand that other people are set to the same standard. Please try to rewrite the sentences just a little bit. I hope that this does not demotivate you to keep editing.--Ashendant (talk) 10:00, 14 January 2019 (MST)

I should also say that you're doing a great job with the Endless Spells articles. Geminids of Uhl-Gysh is a good example of what you should be aiming for.--Ashendant (talk) 10:38, 14 January 2019 (MST)
No problem and I will try better next time. Thanks UMDP (talk) 17:02, 14 January 2019 (MST)
Thanks. Don't worry too much about it you're doing pretty great already!--Ashendant (talk) 18:09, 14 January 2019 (MST)
I've checked the Malevolent Maelstrom and it was a vast improvement, I just have one small criticism. If the book lists examples, you have to mention what those examples are and not just replace it with a general statement. The general statement is good, but the examples are important too. Here is the example of what I meant.--Ashendant (talk) 16:27, 18 January 2019 (MST)
Noted. Thanks - UMDP (talk) 18:45, 18 January 2019 (MST)

Glareface and Boingob

Do you have any information on these two? Are they gods? Because I would like to add them to the Template: Mortal Realms Deities--Ashendant (talk) 09:56, 20 January 2019 (MST)

According to the Battletome Boingob is a GodBeast and the father of all Squigs that died while trying to eat Hysh. The only info on a glareface is " bogeyman of Moonclan lore is known as Glareface Frazzlegit, and is depicted as a cruel star or searing ball of sentient light". It's never stated if it is a real thing and some Grots apparently think it's Sigmar.- UMDP (talk) 11:11, 20 January 2019 (MST)
Sorry, I should've been more specific. Could you copy+paste here the texts or a screenshot of the section of text in question? I just need that and the pagenumber to expand the article. Meanwhile i'll see what I can do with the warscrolls and product descriptions.--Ashendant (talk) 14:28, 20 January 2019 (MST)
Here is the section - "BOINGOB’S DEMISE
Tales tell of how Boingob, the godbeast father of all squigs, rampages through the lands of Ushnoria and Heln and wreaks such terrible destruction that several civilisations vanish into his gnashing maw. The enraged god-squig chases after the light of Hysh, determined to devour it to stop it hurting his beady eyes. He takes a mighty leap, there is a blazing flash that is seen across the realms, and then his huge and smouldering skull crashes down, blackened by fires so hot that even a deity could not endure them. The skull becomes a sacred place to the Moonclan Grots, lying as it does in a vast crater amidst the endless reaches of Ghyran’s Orborean Woods. They tunnel into and around the huge skull and raise the most aggressive and deadly squigs, creating such a mighty stronghold that it will even endure the coming Age of Chaos."
Page is 16, the section is" Ages of Loonacy" UMDP (talk) 18:01, 20 January 2019 (MST)
Thanks! Here's Boingob. If you find anything missing feel free to add to it.
Do you have text about Glareface?--Ashendant (talk) 19:43, 20 January 2019 (MST)
"Conversely, the bogeyman of Moonclan lore is known as Glareface Frazzlegit, and is depicted as a cruel star or searing ball of sentient light. The Moonclan Grots were thus only too happy to vanish into their lurklairs, breeding squigs, cultivating weird mushrooms and raiding the surface only for the juiciest of quarry."- Rise of the Gloomspite Gitz- pg. 4
"Wherever the Bad Moon fills the skies it blocks out not just light, but hope and even rational thought. Those non-greenskins bathed in the Bad Moon’s cloying radiance may be driven mad, spouting nonsense rhymes or babbling in weird dead languages. Others burst into sudden hideous growth as looncap fungi erupt from their bodies with painful – often fatal – results. By comparison, the Gloomspite hordes are energised and emboldened by the unnatural eclipse. Freed from the cruel gaze of Glareface Frazzlegit, they engage in orgies of destruction that see entire nations swallowed up by ruin." - The Bad Moon - pg. 8
"To the grots and troggoths that make up these cave-dwelling multitudes, it feels as though the natural order of the Mortal Realms is a state of cool shadowiness and fungus-thick damp. They hate and fear the bogeyman of the realms’ stars and suns, some Moonclan shamans even conflating Sigmar in the Celestial Realm with Glareface Frazzlegit, and venting their hatred upon any who give the appearance of worshipping him." - Danksome Destruction - pg. 10
" Loonboss Claggit – more properly known as the Grand Smotherdouser – hates fire with a vehement passion. He believes the furious infernos that sweep the surface lands to be the breath of Glareface Frazzlegit, and has convinced his followers that the best way to win the regard of the Bad Moon is to extinguish every source of flame they find." - The Gloomspite Hordes - pg. 22
Hope these help. - UMDP (talk) 02:24, 21 January 2019 (MST)
It helps a lot, see Glareface Frazzlegit if you want to check the result. If you have any other info on deities in any book you can post it here, on my talk page or on the deities respective talk page and I'll add it. Thanks for the help!--Ashendant (talk) 12:52, 21 January 2019 (MST)

Splitting Articles

Hey if you find any article that mixes Age of Sigmar with Fantasy Battles sources, please add it to the list on Lexicanum: To-Do List, so I can properly split or move the content to the appropriate place, temporarily or otherwise.--Ashendant (talk) 14:46, 21 January 2019 (MST)

Sources for images

Don't forget that you also need to source the following images: File:Gobbapalooza 01.jpg File:Loonboss 01.jpg. I know which book they come from, but not their pagenumbers.--Ashendant (talk) 09:36, 22 January 2019 (MST)

Ok. I'll add them. - UMDP (talk) 09:50, 22 January 2019 (MST)
If you have any questions about uploading images feel free to ask.--Ashendant (talk) 09:54, 22 January 2019 (MST)

Two things

You don't need to rename articles to add "in the World-That-Was". When the Lexicanum is split in two(AoS and FB) we are going to remove "in the World-That-Was" and the "in the Mortal Realms". Will probably happen in February.

Another thing. Since you seem to have Beasts of Chaos Battletome, could you give me the pagenumber and section for the information on Rotfrays, Skullfrays, Twistfrays and Slakefrays? I only have a image with the text and the icons.--Ashendant (talk) 10:19, 28 January 2019 (MST)

Ok
Its the section "Legendary Desecrators" pg.22-27 - UMDP (talk) 02:25, 29 January 2019 (MST)

Skulltaker

Since you have the Battletome: Blades of Khorne can you confirm whetever the name of the Skulltaker is U'zhul or U'zuhl. There is some confusion between him and the name of the daemon in Archaon's sword.--Ashendant (talk) 12:06, 31 March 2019 (MDT)

Nope. His true name isn't mentioned in the tome. UMDP (talk) 21:16, 31 March 2019 (MDT)
Dang, I really wanted to confirm and correct the name of those two. One more to the to-do list. Thanks!--Ashendant (talk) 08:43, 1 April 2019 (MDT)

Simplifying Image Titles

Hey, I noticed you were uploading a bunch of Ironjawz images. For sake of making categories easier to navigate let's remove the "Orruk" part from the title and just leave it at "Ardboy", "Brute" and "Gore-Gruntas". Don't worry about moving them I'll do it myself.--Ashendant (talk) 05:56, 28 September 2019 (MDT)

Forum

I've created a Forum so we all can have a more indepth, communal discussion on edits and updates to the Lexicanum, while at the same time making it far easier to follow. Check it on the Lexicanum:Forum article.--Ashendant (talk) 14:13, 16 November 2019 (MST)

Broken Redirects

Please don't erase broken redirects. The Lexi already compiles a list of them that makes them easier to eliminate. Changing them with delete requests only makes it harder for me to delete them.--Ashendant (talk) 13:40, 22 December 2019 (UTC)

Ok - UMDP (talk) 11:49, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

Copy+pasted content

Thanks for pointing out the copy+pasted content as I have no way of checking it. If you spot anything else like it please tell me. Right now I'm rewritting the entirety of the Sylvaneth article. I will also do the same to the Fyreslayers, but it will take time to get there. Thanks!--Ashendant (talk) 15:39, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

Done with the Sylvaneth page. Any issues?--Ashendant (talk) 15:39, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
Nope. The History section and Origins being in the bottom feels weird so I will cut it to the top. Thanks- UMDP (talk) 03:06, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
I usually put the History section at the bottom because it's the one that can grow the most. There's also another issue now that I think about it. We might need to split this article in 2, for Sylvaneth the faction and Sylvaneth the race.--Ashendant (talk) 13:45, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

AoS Lexicanum Discord

We made a Discord server for the Lexicanun so every editor has an easier time communicating with one another. Would you like to be added to it?--Sageking14 (talk) 15:12, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

Not sure if I can contribute much because time issues. Probably in the future. Thanks. - UMDP (talk) 19:52, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
Don't know if you saw the first invite, but here https://discord.gg/zhgWN7kQ. It only lasts a day so if it doesn't work message me at, sageking14#4691 on Discord. That way we can all co-ordinate and discuss things. --Sageking14 (talk) 20:06, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

Battlebox for Siege of Excelsis

Hi, I noticed you've done a great writeup on the Siege of Excelsis. I'd like to see a battlebox added for the article, and was planning on adding it myself. However, since you've written much of the main article, I'd like to point you to the Soul Wars article as a prime example of how the 3-way battlebox would work. That's if you're interested in adding it yourself. A nice, recently added feature is the ability to add runemarks for any faction. An example can be found here Template:Runemark. Squirem (talk) 16:47, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Ok. I will try after finishing the article. Feel free to add it if you want - UMDP (talk) 17:23, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

AoS Lexicanum Discord Follow Up

Hi, we organised the discord server dedicated to organise the AoS Lexicanum and facilitate lore discussions. I've noticed that you started contributing a lot recently and I would like to see you join our various conversations. Like this, it'll be easier for you to know what we're all working towards and it'll give us a heads up on the great project you intend to do yourself. Here's the link: https://discord.gg/BuZQGJaABq

In the hopes of talking to you soon, DukeEligos (talk) 19:50, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Moving articles

If you want to move articles, please request me to move the articles, otherwise we lose the history of edits of that article. Thanks--Ashendant (talk) 00:47, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Ok, no prob. - UMDP (talk) 05:13, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Copy+pasting content

I've received comments that you are copy+pasting content directly from the books. Please, try to edit them a fair bit more.--Ashendant (talk) 23:22, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

I am typing now cuz there are no digital copies now. I read the parts and then write according to memory so I could end up re-writing the same thing. I will look at them again. Thank you. -UMDP (talk) 04:10, 13 October 2021 (UTC)

Grammar

So I want to preface this by saying that I appreciate that you take the time to add so much to the Lexicanum. But that said a lot of additions you make have awkward and confusing grammar, making it difficult to tell what is being said. It would be much appreciated if you proofread your edits a bit more. ------Sageking14 (talk) 19:33, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Ok I will try to check the sentences. Thank you -UMDP (talk) 19:38, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Regarding Askurgan Trueblades

Amazing article. Thank you so much for making it. - Sageking14 (talk) April 4 2023
