The Starblood Stalkers are a warband of Coalesced Seraphon of the Thunder Lizard constellation led by the Skink Priest Kixi-Taka the Diviner. They have been sent to Beastgrave by the Slann in order to calm the mountain - or failing that, destroy it - and save the Mortal Realms.[1]

History

When the Slann Starmasters of the Seraphon turned their prescient gaze upon Beastgrave, the signs were troubling. Unchallenged, the corrupting presence of those who served Chaos would in time transform the mountain into a colossal demigod whose power would wreak havoc across the Realm of Ghur and beyond. To prevent this premonition from coming to pass, the slann sent a hunting party of skinks into the mountain, bolstered by the Saurus Oldblood Klaq-Trok. Leadership of the group fell to the gifted Skink Priest Kixi-Taka the Diviner, in whose hands the slann placed an artefact of dizzying power – an orb that, if deployed in precisely the right location, would compel the entire mountain to consume itself in self-destructive madness. Achieving this would be no easy task however, for the group would have to fight every step of the way as they navigated the mountain’s twisting tunnels. Kixi-Taka’s mission was clear: as the Starblood Stalkers advanced, they would purge Beastgrave of the servants of the Dark Gods, and in so doing, prove the innate primacy of order.[2]

Eventually, Beastgrave would collapse, with some speculating that its fall was caused by the Starblood Stalkers who managed to activate their arcane device to cause the mountain to tear itself apart from within, although other possible explanations have been given.[3a]

Kixi-Taka the Diviner

Main article: Kixi-Taka the Diviner

Kixi-Taka the Diviner is a Skink Priest who leads the Starblood Stalkers. He is armed with a Star-stone Staff with which he may cast magical starbolts.[4] He also carries an Astroglith Igniter, an ancient device grant to the Seraphon by the Old Ones that possesses many esoteric abilities,[4a] including the ability channel the power of the Aetheric Void to consume magic and trickery.[4b] It is this device which Kixi-Taka seeks to use upon the Beastgrave.[3a]

Klaq-Trok

Klaq-Trok is a Saurus Oldblood who acts as the muscle of the warband. He is armed with a Celestite Warmaul and may also use his powerful jaws to inflict harm upon his enemies.[5]

Tok, Xepic, and Huachi

Main article: Huachi

Tok, Xepic, and Huachi are three Skink Skirmishers who assist Kixi-Taka in his quest. They are armed with simpler weapons, such as Boltsplitters, Moonstone Clubs, and Meteoric Javelins. Individually, these skinks do not pose much of a threat, but should not be underestimated should they work in tandem.[5]
