Silksteel is a material woven by arachnids in the Realm of Ghur, it is thin and light but possesses a tensile strength that makes it an ideal material for crafting padded armor.[1][2a]

Agriculture

The frontier township of Marshpoint, located beyond the Brackenmarsh in the Ulwhyr Forest, operates several silksteel plantations. The collection of the material is overseen by minor lords of House Junica and House Dezraed, two feuding Azyrite families.[1]

Uses

Silksteel's properties make it an ideal material for creating padded armor.[1] Armies in Gallet and other regions of the Realm of Beasts have been known to make a tidy sum selling it across the Mortal Realms.[2a]

Such armor is prized among the Freeguilds of Excelsis in particular, as the coastal city lacks access to large deposits of steel. This padded armor has such impressive tensile strength that it can hinder blade strikes and arrows as effectively as steel plate.[1]

Value

Due to its properties Silksteel fetches a hefty profit in markets all across the Mortal Realms.[2a]
