Beliefs
The Scions of the Flame are zealots and firebrands all, warrior-priests who seek to engulf the Mortal Realms in a cleansing inferno. They worship Chaos in the form of the Ever-Raging Flame - a malevolent embodiment of the Realm of Fire - believing both flesh and spirit are hardened and made greater in the searing crucible of its fury. The Scions believe that the fires ignited by the Everchosen's realm-spanning wars will grow to swallow all living things, and so they seek to pledge themselves to Archaon's cause and earn a place in the fiery apocalypse to come. The members of the cult hunt, kill and devour hearts of flame creatures such as magmavores and ash salamanders and may be transformed into living torches or incinerated from the inside out. Aqshian Realmstone, which they call Ragerock, is thought to be part of the living essence of the Ever-Raging Flame.[1b]
History
They have created many bronze fortress temples in their homeland of the Bright Mountains of northern Aspiria within which they gather realmstone, the lifeblood of their god.[1b]
Warband
Blazing Lord
The Blazing Lord is leader of the cult. Powerful figures who are capable of empowering themselves by directly consuming Ragerock.[2]
Brazen Champion
A Brazen Champion is armed with a great, blazing axe.[1a]
Immolator
Immolators are Scions whose connections to the Ever-Raging Flame allow them to immolate their foes with a mere touch. During sacrificial rituals, they would kindle the fires that incinerate the captive sacrifices.[2]
Fireborn
The Fireborn are veteran members of the cult, who are also responsible for maintaining the stock of weaponry, such as Flameburst Pots.[2]
Inferno Priests
The Infernos Priests are the Scions' spiritual core. They are responsible for scouting worthy offering to the Ever-Raging Flame.[2]
Initiates
Initiates are junior members of the Scions of the Flame.[2]
