Queen Neferata was the ruler of the city Lahmia in Nehekhara, part of the empire of the Tomb Kings of Khemri.

Neferata was the cousin of High Queen Khalida Neferher, ruler of Lybaras. She accused her cousin of treason and attempts of assassination and announced them at a banquet. Khalida had to defend herself, so she decided to fight, but without electing a champion. Neferata needed Khalida dead due to her becoming suspicious of Neferata and her Lahmian Court. In fact she was right to be suspicious as Neferata had been reading from heretical texts of Nagash and had drunken from the cirsed Elixer of Damnation. She had become the first vampire and sought to silence Khalida.

Neferata and Khalida fought violently but Khalida could not match the strength and speed of a vampire. As she lay on the floor in her own blood, Neferata sunk her sharp teeth into Khalida's neck and sucked deeply. Then, she bit her own lip and let her vampiric blood drip into Khalida's mouth. Neferata would have succeeded had the Asp Goddess, Asaph intervened. She drained the tainted blood from Khalida and allowed her to die a free person. Neferata escaped to her court in Lahmia and continued to expand her vampiric forces.

Neferata is currently inhabiting the Silver Pinnacle, previously a Dwarf mining-stronghold of the Worlds Edge Mountains, along with her following of vampiric handmaidens.
