The Lore of Metal, also known as Gold Magic, refers to a class of magic and spells that show the dominant colour and hold the elemental characteristics of the Realm of Chamon, the realm of metal. The magic of Chamon is the heaviest of all energies, as it concerns the secrets of metal, the power to enhance it, or destroy it. It is the art of transmutation, the mystery of alloys, the possibilities of deft alteration. It is the magic of alchemy, and of technology.[3a] Since the Shyishian Necroquake, the realmsphere magic of Chamon has become more readily accessible to to the mages residing within the realm of metal. These mages discovered they could instantly rust metal or even cause molten lead to rain from the sky.[2b]

While present in the Realm of Chamon, some spells in this lore become intuitively known to wizards in addition to their other spells.[1][2b]

Iron Maiden Clenching their fist, the caster transmutes the armour, clothes, sweat, air, and other substances in contact with a creature’s skin, wrapping it in a dense tangle of wicked metal barbs that offers some protection, yet tears at flesh when handled without care. Razorsphere The wizard transmutes available materials into a tiny, metal sphere made of razor-sharp, concentric rings that spin and rotate around each other.
