Lore of Light
The Lore of Light, also known as Light Magic[3a], refers to a class of magic and spells that show the dominant colour and hold the elemental characteristics of the Realm of Hysh, the realm of light.[1][3a] The magic of Hysh is illumination, both a literal and figurative sense. It is the magic of scholars, teachers, and seekers of lore. Symbols with depths of meanings that can only be discerned by the wise are its providence. It is the power of light, purity, swift thought, symmetry, and profound truth.[3a]
Besides the wizards of Hysh, white battlemages may be found within the ranks of the Collegiate Arcane, known as White Battlemages. A more senior White Battlemage may be tasked with maintaining the unthinkably complex mechanisms of the Luminark.[5a] Since the dawn of the Arcanum Optimar, the wizards of the Realm of Hysh watched with both terror and scholarly curiousity as the very nature of magic changed. New volumes on the Lore of Light were compiled, and with their use battlefields across the realm were bathed in radiance.[2]
While present in the Realm of Hysh, some spells in this lore become intuitively known to wizards in addition to their other spells.[1][2]
