Looncaps are strange, magical white-and-purple fungi that appear on any surface touched by the light of the Bad Moon.[1a]

Physiology
These pale, white-and-purple mushrooms that burst from every surface, whether it is soil or stone or wood or flesh, come in varying sizes. Some are as small as a thumbnail, while others grow to the height of a mighty ironoak.[1a][1b] On occasion mortals, non-Greenskin ones at least, caught in the light of the Bad Moon will have clusters of looncaps burst from their bodies, an experience that is usually fatal.[1c]
Cultivation
Sneaky Snufflers, who are in charge of harvesting looncaps[1d], train snufflesquigs to identify these mushrooms amongst others that can cause slime vomit, breaking out in luminous yellow spots, babble uncontrollably or even burst into flames.[1b]
Uses
Moonclan Grots use them as ingredients in magic potions and as chewy snacks, that can grant those that consume them with short bursts of mania and self-confidence, usually of the violent kind.[1b]
Religion
Moonclan Grots consider them as omens of the Bad Moon's approach.[1b]
