Cover description

For an age, the Realm of Life has languished in the grip of Nurgle, the god of pestilence and decay. Overcome with despair, the goddess of life, Alarielle, fell into a state of dormancy, seemingly leaving her children, the sylvaneth, to a dark fate under the oppression of Chaos. No longer. Now, the Queen of the Radiant Wood has awoken in her war aspect, and the sylvaneth heed her call to reclaim their forest kingdoms in all the Mortal Realms. Now is the season of vengeance.

It includes the following stories:

  • The Resolute by Josh Reynolds
  • Heartwood by Robbie MacNiven
  • The Splintered by Rob Sanders
  • Wrathspring by Gav Thorpe
  • The Outcast by Josh Reynolds

The Resolute by Josh Reynolds

The reed-city of Gramin is under attack! At the height of the Age of Chaos, the plague fleets of Nurgle sailed into the Verdant Bay laid siege to this wonder of the Realm of Life, a city created by Alarielle herself – and it fell. Now, the Everqueen has awoken once more, and the Sylvaneth march to war, to reclaim the remains of their city. Felyndael of the Fading Light, tree-revenant and hero of his people, leads the attack – but to rout the rot-servants will require more than simply martial skill.

Heartwood by Robbie MacNiven

The storm has broken across the Mortal Realms, and war rages. In Ghyran, the verdant Realm of Life, the corrupting power of Nurgle, the Chaos god of decay, has taken root, and the Sylvaneth, forest-spirit defenders of the realm, fight desperately to defend their way of life. Yet not all of their kind are perfectly aligned in their desires. After a brutal battle against Nurgle's Rotbringers, Nellas the Harvester, Branchwych and almost the last survivor of her house, takes the lifeseeds of her fallen kin back to begin the long and arduous task of restoring her people. But she is injured, and an encounter with Spite-Revenants, twisted Sylvaneth outcasts, leaves her future – and that of her house – uncertain.

Wrathspring by Gav Thorpe

As the taint of the Plague God's corruption spreads across Ghyran, the defenders of the forests seek physical foes against which they can take out their fury. In the Wrathwaters of the Winterleaf Glade, the ratkin of the skaven Clans Pestilens spread across the lands, defiling all they touch. Leafmaster Diraceth of Clan Arleath leads his fellow sylvaneth in defence of their realm, and battle is joined – a battle in which the Everqueen herself will play a vital role.
