The Impassable Peaks is a mountain range in northern Chamon.[1a]

Terrain

The mountains are named for the glass-smooth walls of the steep mountain valleys that wind between the peaks. The mountains themselves are tall enough that their peaks scrape the edge of the realmsphere, though through seraphon magic their peaks are covered in tropical jungles.[1a]

The foothills of the mountains are covered in thick, tangled jungles that provides a challenge to anyone wishing to ascend the peaks. Cold Ones, snakes, and other reptilian beasts are common in the jungle, making traversing them even more dangerous than the terrain would suggest.[1a]

Inhabitants

The seraphon made a home in the region for thousands of years, tending the great prophecy engine known as Tepok's Eye and keeping away all others. Though most of them were killed during the Battle of Tepok's Eye that saw the artefact destroyed by the forces of Be'lakor, even the a ruined and inactive relic of the Old Ones holds great value to the seraphon, so it is unlikely that they have departed.[1a]

Locations

  • Aqmetoq's Pass: A steep-sided pass leading up to the Ziggurat of Qung. During the Battle of Tepok's Eye, the invading forces were ambushed by thousands of Terradon- and Ripperdactyl-mounted skinks.[1a]
  • Ruins of the Ziggurat of Qung: The ziggurat on the summit guarded Tepok's Eye. A plateau of polished stone surrounded it with numerous altars where the seraphon sacrificed unsuccessful invaders and burned their hearts to fuel Tepok's Eye. It was burned by the forces of Chaos during the Battle of Tepok's Eye.[1a]
  • Ruins of Tepok's Eye: The great engine was knocked off the summit during the Battle of Tepok's Eye and now lies in the foothill jungles.[1a]
