Greatiron Tor is a mountain on the Fireplains of Aqshy. It is separated from the Zhulghar Mountains by the Valley of Skulls. The Dreadhold of Bloodkeep stands at its summit.[1a]

Appearance

The tor is a cliff-faced mountain. After centuries of Chaos domination, leering faces and evil runes have appeared in the cliffs, and the waterfall that once fell from its summit now pours blood.[1a]

History

Age of Myth

Kings of the Fireplains build a great fortress on the mountain with the aid of the duardin.[1a]

Age of Chaos

The forces of Chaos raze the fortress atop Greatiron Tor and build Bloodkeep over its ruins.[1b] The fortress becomes the prison for Skarbrand when Archaon beseeches Khorne to restrain the Bloodthirster so he cannot attack Chaos armies.[1a]

Realmgate Wars

Sargassus Heavenhost of the Hammers of Sigmar hires Fyreslayers of Vostarg to lead his Stormcast to Bloodkeep in an attempt to steal the Brass Chain binding Skarbrand to the fortress.[1b] The attack fails,[1b] but Skarbrand's fetters are moved to the Brimfire Gate for greater security.[2a]
