Battletomes is the name of the source books for Warhammer Age of Sigmar armies, factions and scenery containing background information, pictures, and rules.
General Info
Since its release in the summer of 2015, Warhammer Age of Sigmar has had two editions. With each edition, the Batletome of each army has changed to reflect the new rules and units.
Rulewise, the first few Battletomes contained only warscrolls and battalions for playing the respective army and Battleplans for any army to play against each other. However since the Sylvaneth Battletome's release in the summer of 2016 there have been several additions in the form of Allegiance abilities, that allow one to use specific command traits, spell lores, prayer lists, allies and artefacts, if they choose all units with a specific keywords when building an army.
Since the beginning of 2019 the White Dwarf magazine has been releasing mini-battletomes called Tomes Celestial, containing rules, usually in the form of Battalions, for playing certain armies.
