Battletomes are the source books for Warhammer Age of Sigmar armies, factions and scenery containing background information, pictures, and rules.
General Info
Warhammer Age of Sigmar debuted on July 4th,, 2015.[1] It is currently in its second edition, announced May 11th, 2018.[2] With each edition, Battletome for each army are updated to reflect the new rules and units.
Battletomes initially featured only Warscrolls and Warscroll Battalions for each faction and Battleplans for gameplay. This has been updated since July 2nd, 2016, with the release of Battletome: Sylvaneth (2016) to include Allegiance Abilities that allow the use of specific command traits, spell lores, prayer lists, allies, and artefacts if certain faction-specific build rules are followed.[3]
Since February 1st, 2019 the White Dwarf magazine has been releasing a series of Battletome add-ons called Tomes Celestial, containing rules, usually in the form of Battalions, for playing certain lore-specific army sub-factions, starting with the Hammers of Sigmar.[4]
