Baron, or Barones, is a title granted to nobles throughout many civilizations across the Mortal Realms, the use of the title dates back to at least the Age of Myth and is still used throughout the Realms well into the Age of Sigmar most notably by Sigmar's Empire, the Flesh-Eater Courts, and the Processions of the Nighthaunt.[1c][2a][3a][5a]
Notable Titleholders
- Baron of Blizzards: A legendary member of Ushoran's First Court whom the Barons Gizzard of the Flesh-eater Courts are modelled after.[5a]
- Bloody-handed Baron: A Nighthaunt said to haunt the castle of Fornorn.[1a]
- Feculast: A noble of the Blighted Duchies.[4a]
- Finalem: A Baron who rules over a procession of Nighthaunt.[1d]
- Morbosi: A Baron who rules over a procession of Nighthaunt.[1b]
- Ravenblack: The Nighthaunt Baroness of the Blackguard.[1c]
Known Baronies
The fief ruled over by a Baron or Baroness is most often known as a Barony:
- Barony of Mossreach: One of the Swamp-Cantons in the Greywater Reach.[2a]
- Black Marsh Barony: A feudal state found in the Realm of Ghur.[3a]
- Northern Baronies of Azyr: A collection of feudal states found in the Realm of Azyr.[6a]
