The Ancient Tongue of Ulthuan is the language from which most Aelven Tongues seem to have descended. It is the language that was spoken by the Aelves of the World-That-Was, a language that Teclis spoke when he was mortal and attempted to teach to his first creations, the Idoneth Deepkin.[1a][2a]

History

When Teclis sought the aid of Celennar, the spirit that eventually appeared before him answered not in a tongue native to the Mortal Realms, but in the tongue of Ulthuan, the ancestral home of the Aelves in the World-That-Was.[1a]
