Anadiria

Anadiria serves as a resting place for the souls of artists and other creative souls, who were free to pursue their craft in peace. However, the underworld was conquered and annexed by the Ossiarch Empire. Many of its inhabitants have since been consumed by the war machine of the empire and amalgamated into Mortisan Boneshapers, though the influence of the Anadirian souls still shines through in many cases, with Mortisans who were created from the underworld often having a more artistic bent than those who were not.[1a][1c][3a]

Geography

The continent is in the south-east of the empire and is connected to Praetoris (via the island of Dosch) and Equuis Main (via the island of Arpensus) by great bone-wrought bridges. To the east, the isthmus known as the Amethyst Throat connects Anadiria to Ur-Crematoria in the north and another bone-bridge does the same in the south. The mountains of the Strangler's Peaks run down the middle of the continent, and a series of lakes dot the land with a complex network of rivers running between them. A number of islands lay off the southwest coast, with the largest and southernmost being the island of Lodh, location of the Ossiarch regional capital of Gazari.[1b]

Anadiria is a land of dark forests and lonely valleys. There is a suffocating stillness in the air due to the proximity to the Shyish Nadir and its oppressive amounts of death magic.[2a]

Inhabitants

The Ossiarch Legion of the Null Myriad make their home here, as it is the region of the empire most affected by the Shyish Nadir.[2a]

There is a known Tzeentchian presence in the southeast between the Gate of Fools and the fortress of Sepult.[1b]

History

The Null Myriad's greatest challenge in the conquest of Anadiria were the Chaos-worshipping duardin of the Strangler's Peaks. The armies of the duardin were eventually brought to battle on the Fractured Plains, where their infernal magic proved to be ineffective against the Myriad's defences. When the duardin pulled back to the foothills in the hopes of support from their cliffside artillery, they discovered that a small force consisting of several Mortisan Tridents had infiltrated the mountains, scavenged bone from the lairs of local Ghodrine Rocs, and used it to create a force of Necropolis Stalkers that had slaughtered their way through the artillery crews and had then proceeded into the tunnels of the duardin holds to continue their bloody work.[1a]

After the War of Light and Death, the Myriad retreated to their fortresses in the region to regroup and rebuild.[2a]
